Roblox is a free online platform, where users can play and create their own games, making it a popular choice for socializing and collaboration. For players seeking a more immersive experience, Roblox offers voice chat alongside text chat. However, enabling the voice feature requires additional steps. Requirements for Setting Up Voice Chat on Roblox
Before you can enable voice chat on Roblox, you have to fulfill certain prerequisites, depending on your location.
For users who are currently located in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand, verify your phone number (and email).
Alternatively, users who are not in these countries can activate voice chat by using the ID verification method. This requires you to confirm your age, ensuring you’re at least 13 years old (the minimum age requirement for accessing voice chat). To be eligible to kick-start this process, you’ll need to verify your phone and email address.
Verify Your Phone Number
Open the Roblox desktop app, and click on the three-dot icon on the left. If you’re using the web app, click on the gear icon in the upper right. On mobile, tap on the three dots in the lower-right corner.
Click on Settings, then select Account Info at the top.
Click on the Add Phone option, then add your phone number. Roblox will send a verification code to your phone.

Verify Your Email
Back in Account Info, click on the Add email button in the Account Info section.
Add your email. Roblox will send you a message containing a link. Click on the link to verify your account.
Verify Your Age
Finally, verify your age by clicking on Verify My Age underneath your birthday.
When Roblox generates a QR code, scan it with your smartphone. Additionally, make sure you have a valid ID ready for the process.
Click Begin verifying on your phone, then select one of the ID options, including national ID and driver’s license.
Take clear pictures of the front and back of your ID. You’ll also be required to take a selfie.

Enabling Voice Chat on Roblox
Once you’ve verified the required aspects, return to Roblox Settings on your device, and select Privacy. Scroll down to the Microphone and Camera Input section, and enable Use microphone to chat with voice.
Click Enable.
You can voice chat with users who have also enabled this feature. Roblox utilizes the “spatial voice” feature, which is a proximity-based voice chat function. This emulates realistic communication by adjusting the volume of the voice based on the distance between users. In simple terms, the closer you get to another player, the louder you’ll hear them.

How to Use the Roblox Voice Chat
If being able to voice chat is really important to your gaming experience, find out whether a game supports this feature before joining its dedicated server.
Open the Roblox app on your computer or mobile device, and click on a game to view its info page. Scroll toward the bottom of the page, and check the Communication field. If it says Microphone, the game supports voice chat. If it says None, the option is not available.
If you’re already in-game, you can tell whether it supports voice chat by looking in the upper-left corner. If you see a tiny Beta icon, the function is available. Hover over it for extra information.
Click on the gear-shaped icon in the lower-left corner to make sure your microphone is detected.
Switch to Settings, tap Input Device, and check whether the microphone is visible.
Join the game and start voice chatting by tapping on the microphone icon (which is disabled by default) and start talking. Roblox will prompt you to grant permission for the app to access your device’s microphone and camera.
