Upon signing up on WhatsApp for the first time, you’ll need to use your phone number, but if some time has passed and you need to retrieve this number, you can easily do so while using the app. This post walks you through the steps of how to find your WhatsApp phone number as well as your profile URL.

How to Find Your WhatsApp Number

Follow these steps to find the phone number that your WhatsApp account is associated:

Mobile

Open your WhatsApp application on Android and press on the three dots in the upper right corner. Select Settings. On iPhone, press Settings at the bottom after opening the app.

On the next screen, you should be able to see your number.

Write it down somewhere for further use. If you tap on it, you’ll initiate the process of changing your WhatsApp number.

PC

You can also find your mobile number if you’re using the WhatsApp desktop app

Open WhatsApp on your PC and press on your profile picture in the lower left corner of the display.

How to Find Your WhatsApp URL

WhatsApp doesn’t offer the option to create a public URL for standard individual accounts, as it’s designed to prioritize privacy and direct communication. However, you can easily share your contact information with others. You can also share URLs for your group chats or even messages. Those with a WhatsApp Business account can, however, create profile URLs in a few easy steps.

Sharing Your Contact Information

Open a WhatsApp chat on your device (Android or PC) and tap on the paperclip-like icon in the text bar at the bottom. On iPhone, tap on the + button on the left of the text bar.

Select Contacts from the options available. On iPhone, you’ll have to press More to view this option.

Tap on the contact you want to share (including yourself) and press the Next button in the bottom right.

Select whether you wish to share both phone number and email address (if available for that particular contact) and press Next again.

The contact will be promptly shared within the conversation. Pressing on it will reveal the contact’s information. An Add button is also available so the other party can conveniently add the person to their WhatsApp list.

Generating a Profile Link

As previously mentioned, if you have WhatsApp Business, you can generate a link for your profile. Here’s how:

Go to WhatsApp Settings and then select Business tools.

On the next screen, tap on Short link.

Add a message if you want in the available text box and then press on Copy link or Share link.

Then share the link with whoever you want.

Finding a Group Chat URL

If you want to invite someone to a group chat, you can share the URL to the group conversation with them.

Go to the WhatsApp group chat in question and press on its profile picture at the top.

Swipe down until you find the Invite via link option and tap on it.

On the next page, select one of the options. For instance, you can Copy link and then share it via any of the apps you’re using. Or you can opt to Share link via WhatsApp or Share link.

Finding a Channel URL

If you’re part of a channel on WhatsApp and you wish to invite others to join you there, here’s how you can find its URL.

Go to the channel in question (under the Updates tab) and tap on the three dots in the upper right. Select Channel info.

Then either select Forward if the person you want to invite is your contact on WhatsApp or simply Share if you want to reach someone who may not be on the app.

Finding a Message URL

You can also get a URL for messages that are posted in WhatsApp channels, so you can share them with others even if they are not part of the said channels.

Find the message you want to share in the channel and long press on it.

Then tap on the link icon in the upper right to copy the link.

Now you can share it with anybody.
