It has been the lifeline of our organization since the pandemic. I encourage everyone to explore it, as it provides both online cloud hosting and self-hosting options.

You can download a Chrome extension for Shazam. Method #2 mentioned in this list works on your PC and mobile. However, most apps are designed for mobile devices since most people want to identify songs they hear in public.

Comment on Monitor Your Front Door With a Ring Video Doorbell by Lee https://www.maketecheasier.com/deal/ring-video-doorbell-wired/#comment-127437 Sat, 31 Aug 2024 04:59:41 +0000 https://www.maketecheasier.com/deal/ring-video-doorbell-wired/?update=20240829#comment-127437 I glanced through your article and did not offhand see where you added the cost of keeping and viewing the videos daily which is a yearly ADDITIONAL FEE. I have heard of a mini camera called the wiz which does the same as the ring and lets you save and monitor videos. I will be checking into that and hope that is cheaper with the cost of food alone these days, Ring could offer a cheaper service, especially since they will advise of wind moving my tree, but fail to advise of someone at my door!

Unfortunately, it’s on the “maybe be removed” list issued by Google Chrome. The main reason is that the “groups” option. I put all link checkers in a group so one click and they’re turned on and available.

Comment on The Best and Most Secure VPN Services in 2024 by Sayak https://www.maketecheasier.com/best-secure-vpns/#comment-127266 Fri, 30 Aug 2024 10:45:31 +0000 https://admin.maketecheasier.com/best-secure-vpns/?update=20240828#comment-127266 In reply to John Phillips.

Mullvad is a good VPN. It uses volatile RAM to store user data, similar to ExpressVPN. It even has an onion website link for enhanced anonymity. However, many users have reported issues with geo-blocking, leading to CAPTCHAs when attempting to access popular streamers like Netflix on Mullvad servers. If they can address this problem, they could certainly compete for a top VPN spot

@dragonmouth, yes, i agree with you. Although I have been a KDE user (Kubuntu) for many many years, GParted is my preferred partition manager. I tried KDE PM, but gave up on it. KDE PM can’t do some things that GParted can.

Comment on AI Gets Competitive as Amazon Instructs Sales Team to Trash Talk OpenAI by Amazon Not Com https://www.maketecheasier.com/ai-gets-competitive-amazon-trash-talks-openai/#comment-126728 Wed, 28 Aug 2024 22:17:23 +0000 https://admin.maketecheasier.com/?p=757927#comment-126728 Amazon could maybe work on getting their site to work with basic features such as opening links in new tabs and allowing deletion of purchase history. How many users buy the same thing over and over and really care about purchases made years ago from sellers that no longer exist and items they no longer feature.
I rarely use Amazon because the creep factor is so high. Pretty sure their AI will turn into a monster.

Each method has its pros and cons depending on what you’re looking for—whether it’s a quick online solution or something more integrated like Google Docs or Microsoft Word. Personally, I find Canva’s approach quite user-friendly for those who already use it for design projects. Does anyone have any favorite tips or tricks for using these tools effectively? I’d love to hear more about your experiences!”

Everything you snag is saved in your memosnag account where you can create and share collections. I believe the extension is also available for Firefox and the Android app is pretty cool too. And it’s free!

My computer builder uses an open firmware called coreboot

coreboot is a replacement for your BIOS / UEFI with a strong focus on boot speed, security and flexibility. It is designed to boot your operating system as fast as possible without any compromise to security, with no back doors, and without any cruft from the 80s. It was originally designed for large super-computers with thousands of nodes, but it will run on your desktop, headless internet server, laptop, tablet or your favorite IoT device.
