While TikTok is mostly known for allowing users to create short-form video clips, you can also use the app to create slideshows of your favorite photos. If you’re currently out of ideas when it comes to creating entertaining videos, posting a slideshow can be a good alternative. This guide demonstrates how to make a slideshow on TikTok.

What Is a TikTok Slideshow?
A TikTok slideshow refers to a collection of photos that can be posted on your feed or as your Story on the app. This option can be quite useful when you want to post multiple shots from an event or a trip.
Just like regular videos, you can edit your slideshow by adding things like filters, stickers, and music before posting it on your TikTok profile.

How to Make a Slideshow on TikTok
To start your first video or photo slideshow, you’ll need to use the TikTok app.
Upload Option
This method will produce a standard TikTok photo slideshow, one that you can swipe through to view all the photos.
Open the app, and tap on the + button at the bottom.
Make sure the next screen says Photo above the shutter button, then press Upload.
Select all the images to be included in your slideshow, then press the Next button at the bottom.
Use the menu in the upper-right of the display to add stickers, filters, or text, and customize your images.
Press on the musical note at the top to replace the default song that TikTok will apply to your photo slideshow. Search the TikTok sound library for a better-suited song.
If you’d like to include more photos, add more by pressing the + button at the bottom.
When it’s time to post the slideshow, press the Your Story button. If you wish to have the slideshow appear on your TikTok profile grid, press Next.
Add a cover, description, and #hashtags. Don’t forget to select whether the slideshow should be visible to everyone and whether you want to allow comments.
Press Post at the bottom to have the TikTok photo slideshow go live.

Effect Option
You can also create a TikTok slideshow via the Effect option. This will create a video slideshow containing several images, which will be shuffled when you open the video.
Open TikTok and press the + button at the bottom, then tap on Effect.
Tap on the magnifying glass icon to search the Effects library.
Type “slideshow” and tap on the video-shaped button next to the first result.
You’ll be prompted to add photos to your TikTok slideshow. If they are recent, you can swipe through the thumbnails at the top. If you need to dig into the gallery, press the + button.
Once you’ve selected your photos, you can add a song (for each slide, even) by tapping the musical note at the top, then pressing Done. Select a timer. 15 seconds was selected in this example. Then, press the red shutter button.
Once the video starts, tap once to move to the next photo, then tap again to move to the next image, and so on.
Add filters, stickers, and more on the next screen. Press Next or Add to Story.
If you selected the former option, press the Post button after selecting the cover, adding descriptions, and more.
How to Make a TikTok Slideshow Using Templates
TikTok offers templates to help you create more attractive slideshows. Follow these steps to take advantage of them.
Open the TikTok app, and press + at the bottom. Swipe to Templates at the bottom.
Swipe through the options available. Some of these templates allow you to create unique slideshows. Once you’ve identified one, press the Upload photos button. Select the images you wish to use, then tap OK at the bottom.
The advantage of templates is the filters and music that are already added to express a certain kind of feeling or vibe. There’s no need to customize the slideshow yourself. But if you want to change something, you can.
Press Next if you’re satisfied with how everything looks, or press Your Story. Add your description, hashtags, and privacy settings, then tap the Post button.
